Exhibition Tour
Tour for Youth, Adults, Children and Families

Participants will go on a guided tour of the exhibition to view significant works created by the artist Khalil Rabah from the 1990s to the present. The works propose speculative frameworks and platforms for exploring how cultural institutions, curatorial practice, museological discourse and critical knowledge operate under long-standing states of emergency and displacement. 

Tatreez Bookmarks
Workshop for Youth and Adults

Traditional Palestinian embroidery is called tatreez. It is a skill many women in Palestine learn as children, both to decorate their own homes and also to generate income. Embroidery patterns are traditionally cross-stitched on dresses and headdresses. Artist Eman Al Khawaja will be teaching participants basics of tatreez embroidery techniques, and they will then create patterns on bookmarks. 

Drawing on Tote Bags

In this workshop, participants will be drawing patterns and designs inspired by Palestinian embroidery on tote bags.

Tapestry Weaving

Inspired by artist Khalil Rabah’s work On what grounds (site plans), participants will learn how to create woven landscapes. 

Botanical Drawings
Workshop for Children and Families

Date: Friday and Saturday, 25–26 March
Timings: 6:00 pm–8:00 pm

Ages: 6–15 

In this workshop, participants will observe and make sketches, take sample cuttings and study the distinguishing textures, shapes, colours and details of a number of plants. Afterwards, they will record their observations using various watercolour and sketching techniques introduced in the workshop.
